FIP/PB Introduction the Caatinga is today one of the threatened regions more of the globe for the predatory exploration. This work considers an analysis on the existing social problems in cities of small transport, and its thematic relation with the ambient one, in a society each globalizada time more and presents the general objective to analyze the urban geographic space of the small cities, in view of the ambient problems, taking as case study the quarter Green Weeds in the city of Stream of Santana, located in the sub-region of the San Francisco Medium in the Bahia. For in such a way, one searched to understand the ambient problems as reflected of the problematic socioeconmica; to identify, through the historical process of occupation of the city and the quarter, as the social inaqualities had been developed; to understand, from the economic historical process of the city, as the urban expansion of this was given city and to understand the consequences of the use forms and occupation of the ground, adopted there on the urban environment, without losing of sight the partner-economic processes in course in Brazil and the world.
